What is ZAMM Anyway?
The name ZAMM is inspired by the classic book, Zen and the Art of Motorcycle Maintenance. If you ride a Royal Enfield, you probably already understand the connection. There is something inherently calm, simple, and unpretentious about these motorcycles. They don't try to be spaceships; they just offer something soothing that is simply good for the soul.
That is exactly the philosophy I'm trying to bring into this project. The technology running under the hood might be advanced and complex—utilizing modern artificial intelligence, language models, vector search, and context caching—but if I succeed, the "soul" of ZAMM will feel exactly like a Royal Enfield: flowing, quiet, grounded, and straightforward to use.
The core tool here is the one I wanted the most: a knowledgeable technical assistant in your pocket. To make it as reliable as possible, ZAMM indexes official factory workshop manuals and technical literature, offering answers backed by direct citations and page references so you can always double-check the source yourself.
Who is This For?
First and foremost, ZAMM is built for the Royal Enfield riding community in Israel. Running this infrastructure, the servers, the databases, the AI model queries, costs real money out of my own pocket. Because of that, I can't grow it too fast, and honestly, I don't feel the need to. There are registration caps and daily usage limits to keep the servers alive and financially sustainable while we optimize performance.
If this proves to be a genuinely useful tool for us, there’s a chance it might eventually expand to other Royal Enfield communities around the world. As for riders of other motorcycle brands? You are more than welcome to BUY ROYAL ENFIELD!!! This virtual garage is strictly dedicated to the Enfield family.
The Face Behind the Project
My name is Yuval Karmi. By day, I lead the Technology and AI team at ADALYA consulting. Programming is both my profession and my absolute favorite hobby; I just love coding and learning new things.
Beyond the screen, I am a rider. I've been riding motorcycles for years, and my trusty bike (since 2020) is a Royal Enfield Himalayan 411 that goes by the name "Sir Theodore III". My son Alon and I have ridden this bike all over Israel together, from quick afternoon escapes to multi-day camping trips loaded with gear.
A year after I got the bike, I started volunteering to lead rides for fellow Himalayan owners, and later for the broader Royal Enfield community and local importer events. In early 2026, a few friends and I officially founded the REOC (Royal Enfield Owners Club) Israel community, and we've already shared some memorable miles together.
I'm building ZAMM with the exact same mindset I bring when leading a ride: I see every user as a fellow traveler. I’m not an omniscient tech guru or a master mechanic with all the answers, I’m just riding beside you.
Right now, ZAMM is in active Beta. There will be bugs, database resets, and occasional hiccups. When things go sideways, we'll fix them, laugh about it and keep rolling.
Where Are We Heading?
Honestly? I don't know yet.
I started this project to solve my own basic need of having workshop manuals intelligently accessible wherever I am. There are plenty of features I’d love to explore, like community validation mechanisms, but ZAMM is built late at night and during my spare time. Between my job, family, kids, and grandkids, I are going to take this slow and steady... exactly like a Himalayan tractor chugging up a rocky trail, and enjoy the ride wherever it takes me.
